Reversing the cycle. Turning paper back into 3D wood. Aiming at building back forests.
The US goal is to replace 90% of all plastics with biomaterials by 2043. The message is clear, and their report points to solutions based on waste streams of lignin and hemicellulose to support the transition towards a locally sourced circular bio economy.
Basically, this could be a description of PaperShell’s mission, our materials solutions, our production philosophy and partnerships with suppliers and clients to replace fossil based plastics and other high impact materials. We are not a report! We are producing today. We work alongside design and engineering departments on a number of projects cross market.
Why? Quoting Ellen McArthur Foundation:
”Waste and pollution are not mere accidents, but rather the consequences of decisions made at the design stage of a product, where around 80% of environmental impact is determined. By changing our mindset to view waste as a design flaw, and by harnessing new materials and technologies, we can ensure that waste and pollution are not created in the first place.”
